Upconversion Photochemistry published in Nature!

2/2/2019

Our recent work studying the application of upconversion to photochemistry has been published in Nature! In collaboration with the Campos and Rovis groups at Columbia, we show that you can run a number of photochemistry reactions powered by near infrared light instead of visible by adding upconversion to the process. The addition of upconversion allows for a deeper penetration depth and opens the door towards in vivo applications, as evidenced by driving a reaction through bacon with a near infrared laser. Congrats to Andrew and Ben on the excellent work!
